This stoic vineyard was planted in the 1971 on a grey, sandy-loam soil on the Eastern boundary of Flaxman Valley. Positioned at an altitude of 430m, this vineyard has survived, and flourished, with minimal irrigation and inputs over its lifetime. Half the fruit was treated traditionally whilst the remaining had seven days left on skins. These two components have been blended and left on solids for 5 months in seasoned French oak, creating a wine full of tropical fruits and ginger spice.
