Grenache – Ebenezer. Shiraz and Mataro – Williamstown.
Grenache (50%) Shiraz (45%) Mataro (5%)
Vineyard
The fruit for this wine is drawn from vineyards at opposite ends of the Barossa Valley, showcasing the region’s remarkable diversity. From the warmer northern reaches comes Grenache, sourced from venerable 70‑year‑old vines that deliver richness, depth, and concentration. Balancing this power, 50‑year‑old Shiraz and Mataro from the cooler southern slopes contribute elegance, supple tannins, and a lifted spice. Together, these parcels weave a tapestry of intensity and finesse, embodying the Barossa’s unique interplay of climate, soil, and heritage vines.
Winemaking
The Grenache and Mataro for this wine were made using the addition of 50% and 25% whole bunch respectively. Shiraz was destemmed. Each component was matured separately in seasoned oak for 29 months before being blended and bottled in September 2025.
Nose – Raspberry, peppercorn, cinnamon and clove.
Palate – Bright fruit, savoury element, integrated oak, great length.
